“A Year in Tent City” 8/12 Lakewood’s Tent City is that town’s worst-kept dirty little secret. About 40 homeless live at the homeless camp inside the township’s borders, led and cared for by Minister Steve Brigham who lives at the camp himself. Although the town has tried to close it, they have been unsuccessful to this point because there is a need for such a place. Charles Errickson shaves before his shower in the pump house at the camp. The residents of Lakewood's "tent city" come from all walks of life, and for all sorts of reasons, bringing with them a wide variety of skills, personalities and problems.
