“A Year in Tent City” 12/12 Lakewood’s Tent City is that town’s worst-kept dirty little secret. About 40 homeless live at the homeless camp inside the township’s borders, led and cared for by Minister Steve Brigham who lives at the camp himself. Although the town has tried to close it, they have been unsuccessful to this point because there is a need for such a place. Chris Hardman prepares to bike to find work through the Labor Ready Agency a few miles away on Route 9 on a cold November Day at 4 am in the morning. His dad, Doug Hardman sleeps rolled up in several blankets next to him.
