In the days following the terror attacks of September 11, the people of New York came together to mourn.
Paul Cascio Sr. cried "That's my boy. That's my baby", as he attached a missing person flier to a wall outside a hospital. The flier included a photo and description of his son, who worked in the World Trade Center and was missing.
Others, including Lisa McPeek, turned to prayer. Visitors to New York came prepared with dust masks to get a glimpse of Ground Zero, as newspapers reported the hunt for Osama bin Laden. The stock market reopened and lost hundreds of points, and New Yorkers joined hands in unity.
