|Dear members, |
Our first Photo Night was a big success, despite not receiving the video and slide show from the National office (FedEx lost it!) So, we had a party instead, and looked at some of Mike McLaughlin's exhibit prints, as well as Daryl Stone's images from the America 24/7 project. We had freelancers and staffers from the Asbury Park Press, The Ledger, The Record, Home News Tribune, Herald News, Greater Media and Philadelphia Inquirer in attendance.
We had a very brief meeting where April Saul volunteered to be the Education Day coordinator. Many, many thanks for that. Some suggestions were made as to what topics we'd like to hear about, and April will get back to us when she has a date and place lined up. It will be on a Saturday in September or October. We will keep everyone updated as details are firmed up. Plans are to make this event FREE for members !
My daughter, Caitlin, tagged along for the evening, and shot most of the images you see here. My favorite is the self-portrait she did; her favorite is the shot of Mike's Pez collection.....the other images were taken by Ellie Markovitch. We hope to have another Photo Night before the end of the year, so if you are interested in hosting it, please contact me. NJPPA will provide the food and beverages.
Have a fantastic and safe summer!
